REVIEW : Atreyu 'In Our Wake'

October 4, 2018

Atreyu seem to get better and better with every album. Ever since the release of ‘The Curse’, this quintet seems to just keep on refining their sound. Upcoming release ‘In Our Wake’ is that exact statement.

Atreyu is ready to leave everyone else in their wake to further drill home the message that they are one of the greatest modern metal bands and kings of their genre. With the title track kicking things off, this was certainly the best way to start the album.

The signature deep beating of the floor tom and snare in unison ring in this album and make their presence known to one and all. By the third track ‘The Time Is Now’, i was so deeply invested in the album that i was excited for what the rest of this colossal effort would provide.

It's no mystery why fans keep salivating for more from the Californian wrecking crew, their albums always deliver what their fans want, and they know how to translate it to the full live show experience as well. As you progress through the album, you get an interesting combo from ‘Into the Open’ & ‘Paper Castle’. Both tracks absolutely stellar on their own, but seem to fit together almost unintentionally to form one hell of a track.

As the album closes out, it seems that like an endurance athlete, they've saved the best for last. This is definitely a fine follow up to their previous album ‘Long Live’.

‘In Our Wake’
is available for pre-order now and is released on October 12 through SPINEFARM / CAROLINE AUSTRALIA
