[Interview] Jami Morgan from Code Orange talks 'Underneath'
Code Orange are unstoppable.
On March 13 the band released their highly anticipated new album ‘Underneath’, a dark and sinister record that reflects the current state of world events and it’s toxic digital obsessions.
As the band were preparing to hit the road in support of Underneath the world was turned upside due to the global spread of the Covid-19 virus, which saw heavy public gathering restrictions and venues shutting their doors.
But Pittsburgh’s forward thinking noise masters had other plans, using the opportunity to play to an empty venue with their full production streamed for the world to see through their Twitch account, making the most of a terrible situation.
The result ended up with 13’000 fans all tuning in together to throw their support behind the band with merch sales and celebrate the release simultaneously across the globe.
We spoke to Jami Morgan from Code Orange on the Everblack Podcast about their new album ‘Underneath’ and it’s concept, their live stream, stepping away from drums to front the band, their appearance at Download Festival Australia 2019 and their plans to hopefully return one day.
