Sum 41

It’s been 3 years since our last Sum 41 record and it’s felt like forever. After a big return to the ranks with 13 Voices in 2016, the boys are back and they’re back once again in full force and it's apparent from the moment opening track 'Turning Away' kicks in, this album is going to be something special. It’s clear that this is hands down one of their most aggressive and personal album to date. Reminiscent of the Chuck-era, the record shows off heavier riffs, raw emotional vocals and...

Canadian punk rockers Sum 41 have just dropped two brand new singles on top of the previously released 'Out for Blood' off of the upcoming album 'Order in Decline'.

Where 'Out for Blood' was balls to the wall heavy as fuck, 'Death in the Family' is anthemic in Sum 41 tradition. Through a balance of in your face riffs and a soaring chorus, lyrics like “Your lies will tear you apart...Your fate is left to a different generation. You know they won’t be kind” echo throughout the track.

The most...

THE AMITY AFFLICTION, arguably Australia’s most successful heavy music exports have announced their huge Australian Tour in September with the support of UNDERØATH, CROSSFAITH and PAGAN.

For all the Brisbane fans, you’ll be treated with the “Heaven And Hell” as part of Brisbane Festival’s 30th anniversary of Riverstage celebration on Saturday 14 September. This show includes additional performances by SOUTHEAST DESERT METAL, VOID OF VISION, ENDLESS HEIGHTS, THORNHILL and more to be announced a...

Metal juggernaughts Devildriver have just announced a massive tour around Australia, covering every major city around the country. And along for the ride are Massachusetts very own All That Remains.

Vocalist Dez Farara teased Aussies just over a month ago that the band would be heading back down under very soon, telling Australian fans to turn on their notifications and that an annoucement was coming soon. Low and behold, the time has arrived and after a long five year wait, the kings will fin...

There's only one way to start this. Tonight I witnessed, hands down, the best show by any Australian band....ever. Yes even over AC/DC. Fight me. Parkway Drive played to a sold out Riverstage in Brisbane, their biggest headline show to date. This is a small band from Byron Bay who have pushed the limits and worked their f'ing asses off to get to where they are. They've spent a lot of their time overseas playing some of the worlds biggest festivals, to some of the biggest crowds, Parkway are now...

Brisbane born five piece Chronolyth are our only support for the nights show. Greeted with a roaring crowd, the boys don't hold back for one second throwing the crowd into a fit of pure brutality. This is my first time seeing and even hearing Chronolyth and man are these guys tight. Vocalist Hamish is a fantastic frontman with his dark and sinister stage presence, he leads some of the best musicians our local scene has to offer.

After only a short wait, DragonForce make their way on stage sendin...

He Danced Ivy has the opening slot tonight for Protest The Hero. I honestly had not heard of these guys until tonight and as soon as I had my first chance I jumped onto the interwebs to search for them. These guys were fantastic and a great deal of fun to watch. The lead singer brings a refreshing energy to the stage and the songs fit perfect into a support slot for Protest The Hero.

Brisbanes very own local outfit A Breach Of Silence are second on the rank. A heavier more brutal support in comp...

Cog fans never expected the out of the blue tour announced early last year, their first in six years let alone a second tour. Tonight we are treated to just that, a brand new tour, brand new setlist and all in one of Brisbanes best venues, Eatons Hill Hotel.

The night kicks off with Brisbanes very own experimental two piece, Chief Weapons. The last time I was genuinely this impressed with a two piece was when I first heard Royal Blood. What makes these guys more impressive is that all of their...

December 11, 2016

Friday December 9 is one of two Brisbane dates that find Utah based rockers The Used at the end of their 15 year anniversary tour across Australia. Clocking in 12 shows in just under 3 weeks, showcasing their first two albums Selftitled and In Love and Death.

They're here to treat Australian fans to something very special. For two shows spanning over two nights per city, the boys will be playing through both albums, one each night. And tonight, we are here to see their 2004 hit album I...

7:15pm rolls on and while many people are still manning the bars and merch desks, there still seems to be a fairly packed out room at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in time for In Hearts Wake to take the stage. They are by far the odd band out on the line up, but this is hardly noticeable with the crowd's reaction. There is a following in the crowd and they are made heard. For a band of youngsters from Byron, this is sure to be a nerve-wracking experience, but regardless, the band kicks in a...
